Celtic wedding in Paris

In the majestic Luxembourg Gardens of Paris, nestled amidst the lush greenery and age-old sculptures, a love story as unique as the surroundings came to life. The protagonists of this tale, Ciarán and Maeve, decided to celebrate their love by embracing the sacred rituals of their Celtic heritage.

A revered tradition, known as 'handfasting', was chosen to mark their union. This ancient custom, entwining the hands of lovers with a ribbon to symbolize their lifelong bond, was set to be the highlight of the day.

As a professional Paris-based photographer, I was given the honor of capturing this enchanting ceremony in the heart of Paris’s most beautiful garden. Their story unfolded under the watchful eyes of countless historical statues and the warm Parisian sun.

Both Ciarán and Maeve looked resplendent in their wedding attire, with anticipation gleaming in their eyes. A vibrant red ribbon lay on the ceremonial table, its rich hue a testament to their profound love and an echo of Celtic tradition.

With the resonant melody of a Celtic harp filling the air, they extended their hands towards each other. The officiant gently draped the red ribbon over their joined hands, its loops and knots forming a tangible symbol of their love and commitment.

As the traditional vows were recited, their bound hands tightened their grip, sealing their love with each knot. The red ribbon seemed to glow under the warm sun, as if blessed by the essence of the garden itself.

Their union, now symbolically eternal through the handfasting ceremony, was greeted with joyous applause. A soft kiss, tender yet fervent, solidified their vows as the melody of the harp danced around them.
